Court decides to move Shant Harutyunyan to lunatic asylum

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS. Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts in a close-door court session granted the investigator's solicitation subjecting Shant Harutyunyan to forensic psychiatric examination. He was moved to Nubarashen lunatic asylum and will stay there for two months. In a conversation with Armenpress Harutyunyan's lawyer Inesa Petrosyan said that she does not want to say anything in advance and will speak about the details later.
8 suffered policemen having injuries of different levels were taken to various medical institutions of the capital in the result of the clashes organized by Shant Harutyunyan and his supporters in the Liberty Square and Mashtots Avenue. Press secretary of the Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Armenia Anahit Haytayan informed Armenpress that two of them were taken to the hospital of St. Gregory the Enlightener who had cranial and abdominal injuries in the result of being subjected to stabbing. “6 of the 8 policemen were moved to the 3td clinical hospital,” Anahit Haytayan said.
Ordinary citizens and policemen suffered in the result of the clashes organized by Shant Harutyunyan and the demonstrators in the Liberty Square. Deputy Chief of the Police of the Republic of Armenia Hunan Pogosyan also arrived at the place of the incident. The police of the Republic of Armenia informed that more than two dozen transgressors were brought to the police department. The police also stated that any illegal action will be reacted by the strongest extension, as for the transgressors, they will be punished with all the strictness of the law.
