Cooperation between UNO on Drugs and Crime and Armenia’s Police to be efficient

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 21, ARMENPRESS. Today the chiefof the Police of the Republic of Armenia, Vladimir Gasparyan has received Executive Director of UNODC and Director-General of the UN Office in Vienna (UNOV) Yuri Fedotov. As Armenpress was informed from the Police of the Republic of Armenia, welcoming the guest, the chief of the Police has stated happily that the cooperation between the UN Office on Drugs and Crime and the Police of the Republic of Armenia is on a high level. The cooperation has already recorded serious results and the achievements will be more apparent in the result of the further exchange of experiment.

During the meeting, Vladimir Gasparyan has also introduced the present stage of the reforms being carried out in the police and the transformations being made in the police system which are directed to the modernization of the subdivisions and increase of the effectiveness of the fight against crime. Yuri Fedotov has expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between the two structures, noting that the partnership will increase the effectiveness of the fight against illegal drug turnover.
