YEREVAN, OCTOBER 17, ARMENPRESS. The month of the national cinema titled "Cinema Autumn" expands the horizons of its activity and will organize screenings of the Armenian movies beyond the Armenian borders. A number of the Armenian movies will be displayed in Artsakh and Diaspora as well. The National Cinema Center of Armenia has already received letters from Turkey and Iran to hold Armenian cinema days and suggestions to hold the cultural autumn in Armenian-populated countries. In a conversation with "Armenpress" the Director of the National Cinema Center of Armenia Gevorg Gevorgyan underscored: "We want to hold the "Cinema Autumn" in various cities of the Russian Federation, including Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, and St. Petersburg. Hence, we may state that our initiative goes to the international market. I am going to apply for the financing from the State Budget, as the "Cinema Autumn" becomes a state policy."
The month of the national cinema "Cinema Autumn" will be held under the high patronage of the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.
The National Cinema Center of Armenia NCSO, established by the order of the RA government in 2006, is a state non commercial organization and a successor to "Armenfilm" studio named after H. Beknazaryan / 1923/, which operates within the structure of the Ministry of Culture of Armenia.
The National Cinema Center of Armenia sets state cultural policy in the film sector. It is a legal entity of public law under the Ministry of Culture tasked with providing state support to national cinematography. It encourages, preserves and develops the traditions of Armenian cinematography, focusing upon the issues of national importance. The NCCA has a large scale of activities. It participates in international festivals, promotes the national cinema at international film markets. It also meets the requirements of the younger generation arranging animation and youth films production.
The Cinema Center assists the co-production realization within the country with the help of inter state and international contracts and agreements with foreign organizations. It fosters the realization of the debut projects to reveal creative abilities of the oncoming generation and bringing them onto the focus. It ensures consistency of the Armenian cinema; organizes training sessions for the cinema professionals to keep up with modern tendencies and standards; implements educational and consulting activities.
The Cinema Center collaborates with international film production organizations introducing and promoting the Armenian cinema at international festivals and markets, organizes «Days of the Armenian Cinema» abroad. It is also involved in elaboration and introduction of regulating and promoting cinema related law issues.
The Cinema Center implements the following activities: assisting in a state funded featuring, animation, debut and student films' production; preservation of film-photo-audio collections and archives, participation in international festivals and film markets.
The services are provided according to the f four main programs: assistance in film production, implementation of national cinema programs, preservation of the film, photo and audio collections, and participation in international film festivals and markets.
The theatre named after Henrikh Malyan , the Drama Studio, the Animation Production Unit also implement their activities within the structure of the National Cinema Center of Armenia.
