Armenian President awarded national philanthropist Dikran Izmirlian

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 15, ARMENPRESS: The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received the Supreme Patriarch and the Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II and the Swiss Armenian philanthropists Dikran and Helena Izmirlian on October 15. The Department for Mass Media and Public Relations of the Armenian President’s Office reported to Armenpress that Serzh Sargsyan highly appreciated the Izmirlian Foundation’s past and present charitable projects, both in Armenia and in Nagorno Karabakh Republic, which include the latest and yet another important initiative: the reopening of Izmirlian Medical Center in capital city Yerevan, functioning under the auspices of the Armenian Church.

In addition, Sargsyan awarded the Order of Saint Mesrop Mashtots to Dikran Izmirlian, in recognition of his contribution to the strengthening of Homeland-Diaspora ties and his patriotic activities for numerous years.The Izmirlian family members also attended the awarding ceremony.

On his part, the benefactor Dikran Izmirlian stressed that it is owing to his devoted parents that he and his family are conducting patriotic activities. “Armenia is and always will be in our hearts”, - said the national philanthropist.
