YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 20, ARMENPRESS. The idea of erecting "The Memorial of Joint Conscience" in the city of Diyarbakır in Turkey belongs to the city's mayor Osman Baydemir. He announced this yet in 2011 and stated that the first place he would visit in Armenia is the Tzitzernakaberd Memorial and "The Yerevan Radio" (Public Radio). Turkologyst Andranik Ispiryan stated this at the course of the press conference held on September 20. As reports "Armenpress" among other things Andranik Ispiryan emphasized: "The Mayor Diyarbakır informed the Armenian and Turkish journalists about this two years ago. He stated that at the course of the Genocide "The Yerevan Radio" played a significant role helping the Armenians to preserve their national identity by broadcasting programs in the Armenian language. The monument is dedicated to the memory of the city's Armenian, Assyrian, Kurdish, Yazidi, and Jewish victims."
