Arthur Miranyan scored a goal in UEFA Youth League

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 17, ARMENPRESS: In the first match of group stage of Champions League under 19 football of Armenian origin Arthur Miranyan from “Shakhtar” Donetsk scored a goal. “Armenpress” reports that Ukrainian club was hosted by Spanish “Real Sosiedad” and was defeated 2:3. Miranyan was the captain of his team and opened the score on the 9th minute.

Then the Spanish club was able to score three goals. “Shakhtar” could only make the score 3:2.

TheUEFA Youth League will be anassociation footballcompetition for all under age clubs registered to senior clubs that participate and qualify for the group stage of theUEFA Champions League.The tournament is akin to South America'sU-20 Copa Libertadores.

The teams in the first tournament,2013–14 UEFA Youth League, will play a group stage with the same composition and calendar as the2013–14 UEFA Champions League, and is to be held on a 'trial basis'.

The eight group-winners and eight runners-up from group stage will then participate in a knockout phase. Unlike theUEFA Champions League, the knockout phase will be single-leg ties, with the semi-finals and final played at neutral venues.
