World famous Jordi Adria to develop Yerevan-devoted photo album

YEREVAN, AUGUST 12, ARMENPRESS: The world famous Spanish photographer Jordi Adria held a two-week portrait photography course at the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies. Jordi Adria is a London based photographer who started his career as a photojournalist in his native Spain. In 1996 he moved to London to work as a London correspondent for Spanish newspapers El País, El Mundo, ABC and El Periódico, where he also worked for glossy magazines such as Marie Claire Spain and Vogue Spain. After graduating with a BA in Film and TV Production from Westminster University, Jordi’s career took a new direction in advertising photography and he also began working as a photographic director for different music videos and commercials. Adria’s portraits range from capturing very casual spontaneous moments influenced by early reportage photography, to bigger, more organised sessions involving complex studio lighting set-ups and locations.

The photographer, having a unique and attractive working style, has been in Armenia for the first time but he does not exclude his possible visit to our country in the nearest future again.Armenpress talked to Jordi Adria at the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies about his impressions concerning the Armenian course and his creative activities.

-How did you decide to accept the offer by Tumo to come and hold a photography course and what are your impressions about the contacts with the students?

- One of my friends worked at Tumo and offered the organizers to contact me for a joint work. When I was called from the Center, I had no idea about it, neither about Yerevan and I should admit that the work here exceeded all my expectations.

-Have you make any photos in the process?

- Certainly. I have published some of them on my Facebook page. Moreover, I am going to prepare a separate album devoted to Yerevan, including all the photos I have made here. (THE FULL INTERVIEW IS AVAILABLE IN ARMENIAN)
