Vahe Hakobyan assigned Syunik Governor

YEREVAN, JULY 10, ARMENPRESS: The Government of the Republic of Armenia assigned the deputy of the Republican Party of Armenia faction of the National Assembly Vahe Hakobyan as the Governor of the Syunik Marz on June 10. As reported by Armenpress, the suggestion to assign Vahe Hakobyan as the Governor of the Syunik Marz was made by the President of the Republic of Armenia, the President of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Serzh Sargsyan at the RPA executive session. Vahe Hakobyan is the fifth governor of the Syunik Marz. The Regional Administration of Syunik was established in 1996, in accordance with the law of the Republic of Armenia on “Administrative-territorial division”.

After the incident, which took place in front of his house, the former Governor of the Syunik Marz Surik Khachatryan announced that he temporarily gives up his duties as a Governor. Then Surik Khachatryan submitted an application of resignation, which was approved by the Government of Armenia on June 6.
