Weapons supply to Azerbaijan does not affect stability in region: Bordyuzha

YEREVAN, JUNE 26, ARMENPRESS: The supply of weapons to Azerbaijan is carried out in the framework of the business interests of the Russian Federation and aims at preserving stability in the region. This was stated by the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Nikolay Bordyuzha during the briefing with the journalists on June 26, touching upon the weapons supply to Azerbaijan by Russia. The Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization noted that Russia supplies weapons to tens of countries of the world. According to Nikolay Bordyuzha, it is just the business, market and economy of the Russian Federation.

“When we talk about the Caucasian region, the key principle in arms supply decision is the preservation of stability. This main principle is being fully preserved when supplying arms to your neighboring Azerbaijan. In any case, the stability has not been violated today”, - said the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Nikolay Bordyuzha, as reported by Armenpress.

Earlier the source of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation informed that Russia began supplying Azerbaijan with ground weapons. According to the data, provided by the source, the total sum of the deal might reach one billion USD. Azerbaijan is known for its emphasized anti-Armenian activities. Armenia and Russia are strategic partners. The Russian military base N 102 is located in the Republic of Armenia, which is being equipped with military equipment.
