Netherlands won Eurovision young dancers 2013

YEREVAN, JUNE 14, ARMENPRESS: Sedrig Verwoert representing Netherlands became the winner of Eurovision young dancers 2013 contest which was held on June 14 in Gdansk, Poland.

“Armenpress” reports that from 10 participants of the contest to the final stage reached representative of Netherlands Sedrig Verwoert and Felix Berning from Germany. In the final duel Sedrig Verwoert became the winner.

17 years old Vahagn Margaryan representing Armenia who opened the contest had a wonderful performance but could not reach the final stage. His dance was called blind alley in which was pictured a situation with no way out. The choreographer was Arsen Mehrabyan from Royal theatre of Sweden and the composer was Otto Bubenicek.

In the contest took part 10 countries, Armenia, Belarus, Netherlands, Sweden, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Poland, Norway, Slovenia and Germany. According to the rules of the contest the performance had to last a minute and a half. Besides that the participants performed with group dance.

TheEurovision Young Dancersis a biennial dance showcase broadcast on television throughout Europe. Since 1985, using a format similar to the Eurovision song contest every country that is a member of the European Broadcasting Union, has had the opportunity to send a dance act to compete for the title of "Eurovision Young Dancer". The act can be either a solo act or a dance couple, and all contestants must be between the ages of 16 and 21 years during the year of the contest and not professionally engaged. The winner is chosen by television viewers across the EBU through a real-time, electronic and onscreen voting mechanism.

Armenia took part in this contest for the first time.
