YEREVAN, JUNE 13, ARMENPRESS. On June 14 "Eurovision Young Dancers 2013" will launch in Gdansk, Poland. The show will be opened by the 17-year-old Vahagn Margaryan from Armenia, a debut country this year.The Public Relations Department of the First Channel informed "Armenpress" that the participants of the contest are currently actively getting ready for the contest to show a worthy performance.
After the boat trip along the Polish coast and the Baltic Sea, the participants and the delegations were welcome at the City Hall by the Mayor of Gdansk, where a small reception took place.
The Artus Court, which is located very close to the City Hall but is part of the Gdansk History Museum, was the chosen venue to celebrate a reception with the local authorities of the city, including the Mayor of Gdansk, Mr. Paweł Adamowicz.
After greeting all the participant dancers individually, Mr. Adamowicz highlighted that it was a great honor for the city of Gdansk to host the Eurovision Young Dancers competition and that this was the third time that Poland was hosting it (the previous ones were in 1997 in Gdynia and in 2005 in Warsaw).
After the Mayor's speech, it was the turn of Vladislav Yakovlev (EYD 2013 Executive Supervisor) and Robert Kamyk (EYD 2013 Executive Producer). Both of them were grateful to the city of Gdansk for its support.
There was live classical music played by local artists and the participants and the delegations enjoyed the reception and the relaxed atmosphere of the event.
According to the Contest Charter, the performance of each representative will last one and a half minute. The participants will perform a group dance as well, choreographed by the local specialist. The finalists will pass also improvise round, so that the members of the jury could evaluate their ability to quickly orient and perform in different styles.
Armenia participates in the Eurovision Young Dancers 2013 for the first time. The international authoritative contest was first held in 1985 in Italy. It was organized once in two years.
On June 14 at 22:00 the Eurovision Young Dancers 2013 International Contest will be broadcast live by the Public Television of Armenia. The Contest will be available online as well.
