Rock Festival to be held in Yerevan – first of its kind in region

YEREVAN, MAY 11, ARMENPRESS: A Rock Contest Festival will take place on May 16-18 in Yerevan at the Gabriel Sundukyan National Academic Theater. The festival is the first of its kind in the region. As was reported by Armenpress, the organizer of the festival Varduhi Davtyan stated at the press conference held on May 11 that the festival aims at the developing of rock in Armenia.

According to her, different festivals are held in the region, but this kind of contest festival is being organized for the first time.

On the first day the participants of the event will perform world hits, on the second day – their own works. The festival will be attended by 12 rock bands from Iran, Georgia and Armenia. 8 Armenian bands will take part in the event.

The special guest of the contest festival will be the English Antimeter rock band, which performed with The Beautified Project at the concert held in Yerevan in 2011.

The winning participants of the event will be granted with money awards. The festival is assisted by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia and the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia.
