“Nairit Plant” employees demand for salary for 10 months

YEREVAN, APRIL 29, ARMENPRESS: The employees of “Nairit Plant” CJSC held a protest action on April 29 demanding the administration to pay the salary for ten months. This was reported to Armenpress by the Press Secretary of “Nairit Plant” CJSC Anush Harutyunyan. “The employees directed to the Government building and the representatives of the trade unions are holding negotiations in the Government”, - said Anush Harutyunyan. The employees want to know as well when the Plant will function again. According to the Press Secretary of “Nairit Plant”, the number of the participants of the protest action makes about seven hundred people.

On November 26 2012 the employees of the Plant demanded the administration to cover a part of their salaries for eleven months. On November 29 and December 19 the salary for one month was paid to two thousands and seven hundred employees of the Plant. In March 2013 Anush Harutyunyaninformed that the salaries for the months of December, January, February and March had been normally paid to the employees of “Nairit”.

In 2006 in accordance with the contract, concluded between “ArmGazProm” CJSC and “Rhinoville Property Limited”, “ArmGazProm” CJSC sold 90% of “Nairit Plant” CJSC shares to “Rhinoville Property Limited”. The other 10% belong to the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia.“Nairit Plant” CJSC was established in 1940. On December 1 the work of the Plant stopped because of the financial crisis. About 1,500 employees were dismissed.
