YEREVAN, MARCH 13, ARMENPRESS: Statistical analyzes, attached as evidence to the applications of former presidential candidates Raffi Hovhannisyan and Andrias Ghukasyan submitted to Constitutional Court, are more appropriate for scientific meetings and scientific conferences. This was noted by Serzh Sargsyan’s representative in Constitutional Court Davit Harutyunyan during March 13 session in CC.
“It is the first time we are holding the elections with the new Election Code; nevertheless, the only reform of it which has been used is that information has been reported once in 3 hours. Applicants used it, nevertheless, late, as they should have presented appropriate applications on the recount in order to declare results of elections invalid. Statistical analyzes, attached as evidence to the applications, are more appropriate for scientific meetings and scientific conferences,” Davit Harutyunyan said, reports Armenpress.
According to him, dozens of disks with the records of election process have been sent to Constitutional Court, while in the applications attached there were no references to the episode containing the violation.
Armenian Minister of Justice Hrayr Tovmasyan underlined that in his speech he would express his opinion “as human, citizen, lawyer and representative of succeeded Serzh Sargsyan”.
“I don’t want to refer to legal details. It is not a struggle between two men, all these must be resolved legally, here, in the court,” Hrayr Tovmasyan said.
President of Constitutional Court Gagik Harutyunyan said final decisions on the applications would be published tomorrow.
Based on presidential candidate Raffi Hovhannisyan’s application on disputing N62 A decision “On election of the President of Armenian Republic” of Central Electoral Commission, Constitutional Court reached a decision to accept the case for investigation.
K. Balayan and F. Tokhyan and A. Khachatryan are appointed as rapporteurs of the case.
