YEREVAN, AMRCH 13, ARMENPRESS. The bill on involving fact of the Armenian Genocide and Holocaust in the school programs of Pennsylvania has been introduced to the House of Representatives of Pennsylvania. As reports “Armenpress” citing the official website of the House of Representatives of Pennsylvania, State Rep. Brendan F. Boyle, D-Phila./Montgomery, introduced the bill. It provides involvement of the obligatory school hours dedicated to the Holocaust and Armenian Genocide in the school program.
Among other things Boyle stated: "It is crucial our young people have an understanding of the implications of the Holocaust and recognize genocide for what it is – the mass murdering of a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group – so that history never repeats itself. Currently five states have enacted laws requiring the teaching of the Holocaust in schools: California, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, and New York."
