Armenia-EU Association Agreement scheduled to be signed by November: SRC head

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 6, ARMENPRESS: Association Agreement between Armenia and the European Union is set to be signed by November 2013. Gagik Khachatryan, Head of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia came forth during the conference dedicated to objectives and perspectives of the program on the ManagementCapabilities at theNinotsminda-Bavra Border Crossing Point. ''Association Agreement'' is scheduled to be signed before the signing of Eastern Partnership summit due November 2013'' Khachatryan stated.

SRC head noted Armenia's progress recorded in 2012 within European integration process is thanks to the support of international organizations. ''Armenia- EU visa regime facilitation agreement was signed, negotiations were held with European Union, besides Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement(DCFTA) is scheduled to be signed'' Khachatryan noted.

The negotiations over the Association Agreement between Armenia and European Union started July 19, 2010 in Yerevan. Partnership and Cooperation Agreement is the main document regulating cooperation between Armenia and EU, which entered into force 1999, July. Association Agreement is set to replace currently acting Partnership and Cooperation Agreement. Cooperation guidelines refer to economic integration, free movement and energy issues are set to be reflected there. The agreement will have EU common foreign and security policy cooperation components.
