Aram Harutyunyan considered committers of Hayrikyan’s assassination attempt to be “virtual enemy”

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 2, ARMENPRESS: Assassination attempt against presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan has distracted natural process of elections, which will be proved by sociological survey. This was noted by another presidential candidate Aram Harutyunyan during February 2 meeting with journalists. As reports Armenpress, Aram Harutyunyan noted that by analyzing and concluding the process of pre-election campaign recorded before the incident, it could be divided into two phases: before assassination attempt against Paruyr Hayrikyan and after it. “Even if before the assassination attempt pre-election campaign wasn’t so competitive, therefore, there was an atmosphere of desperation throughout the nation. Image completely changed after the incident, character of “virtual enemy” has been formed,” he said.

Harutyunyan doesn’t consider the “virtual enemy” to be one of the candidates, or other political sides or forces from abroad. He also describe the hypothesis that danger might possibly come from Russia to be improbable.

Aram Harutyuntyan expressed his support to Paruyr Hayrikyan wishing him health and speedy recovery.

Referring to the campaign, Harutyunyan noted that his decision to leave presidential race 10 days before elections remains unchangeable. In case of elections’ delay, candidate will withdraw himself 10 days before elections in order to use his campaign time efficiently, raised issues which concern society.
