NSS and Police investigation group have developed several versions over assassination attempt against Hayrikyan

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 2, ARMENPRESS: Criminal case under article 34-305 of Armenian Criminal Code has been already initiated over the assassination attempt against presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan. Preliminary investigation of the criminal case is implemented by joint investigation group of National Security Service and Armenian Police, led by head of the investigation department of NSS, colonel Mnatsakan Marukyan. As Armenpress has informed form the head of press service center of NSS Artsvin Baghramyan, operative investigation group has developed several version of the criminal case which are being checked. Operative investigation actions are made; forensic medical, fingerprint and other expertise are scheduled.

Presidential candidate, leader of union for "National Self-Determination" Paruyr Hayrikyan was shot around 11:30 PM, January 31 in Tpagrichner Street, Kentron district of Yerevan. Hayrikyan got a gunshot wound to shoulders' area and has already been operated on in "St. Grigor Lusavorich" medical center.

Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Aghvan Hovsepyan visited “St. Grigor Lusavorich” medical center and had a conversation with presidential candidate, leader of union for "National Self-Determination" Paruyr Hayrikyan.

Criminal case under article 34-305 of Armenian Criminal Code is under surveillance of Department of cases investigated by National Security Agencies of the General Prosecution.

Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia gave written instructions to experienced investigators of police and national security service.

One bullet of 7.62 mm diameter was confiscated from the crime scene; second bullet was removed from Paruyr Hayrikyan’s body during surgery.
