YEREVAN, JANAURY 25, ARMENPRESS. The Eurovision Song Contest is the biggest annual project of the European Broadcasting Union and each year the contest unites millions of people around it. In a conversation with "Armenpress" the Event Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest of the European Broadcasting Union Sietse Bakker stated that first of all "Eurovision 2013" Song Contest will reflect how the people celebrate the feast, which unites them. Sietse Bakker noted: “The Team of Sweden is extremely experienced and knows how to make a remarkable show."
Among other things the Event Supervisor stated that there will be a lot of surprises at the show this year. He noted: "Of course there are some surprises, as always, but hey... If I would tell you know, they are no longer surprises." In Sietse Bakker opinion what makes the Eurovision Song Contest so popular, is the notion that it is the only event that truly brings the whole of Europe together. The Representative of the European Broadcasting Union underscored: "And even those who left Europe a long time ago, to Australia or the US, still enjoy watching the contest!"
Regarding the slogan of this year’s contest "We are One", Sietse Bakker highlighted: "Yes, that's what the Eurovision Song Contest is all about. Being together, celebrating, enjoying, having fun, and of course, compete! The butterfly represents that slogan, in all its diversity!"
Sweden is to host the Eurovision Song Contest this year. Soloist of "Dorians" rock band Gor Sujyan will present Armenia in "Eurovision 2013" song contest taking place in Malmö, Sweden on May 14."Dorians" rock band wrote the song "This is our world" for "Eurovision 2012", therefore Armenia didn’t participate in the contest. Sujiyan was born in July 25, 1987 in Yerevan, Armenia. He is the son of guitarist, jazzman Mkrtich Sujiyan.The song to represent Armenia in Malmö will be chosen in a national final on the 2nd of March. Gor Sujyan will sing all the songs, and in the end, the winning entry will be chosen by a combined vote of the TV public and an expert jury.
