YEREVAN, JANUARY 18, ARMENPRESS: Secretary General of NATO Anders Fogh Rasmussen highly evaluated the response of France and other NATO member countries over events taking place in Algeria. As Armenpress reports referring to Itar-Tass, Rasmussen said “Terrorist and extremist groups which are aimed at taking hostages in the region may be a direct threat for Europe”.
Secretary General of NATO believes, events taking place in Algeria are adding new elements to the image of region, which has entered the development phase recently.
“I consider the fact that NATO individual member states mediate in order to open the way for African forces,” Rasmussen said.
