Karekin II suggests Pashazadeh to meet at Artsakh border

YEREVAN, JANUARY 8, ARMENPRESS. There is no clear arrangement about the Artsakh meeting of the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II and Chairman of Caucasian Muslims Board Sheikh-ul-islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh. Notwithstanding such suggestion has been put forward. The Head of Information Centre of Ejmiatsin Fr. Vahram Melikyan stated this in a conversation with "Armenpress". Fr. Vahram stated: "Suggestion regarding the organization of a meeting at the border was put forward during the trilateral meeting of the CIS spiritual leaders, which was held in Yerevan, and it found positive response." He also laid a heavy emphasis that there was not made clear arrangement then.
Among other things he underscored that on the order of the Catholicos of All Armenians, Primate of the Georgian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan conveyed the suggestion regarding the meeting at the Artsakh border to Allahshukur Pashazadeh, who paid a visit to Georgia recently. Also the Head of Information Centre of Ejmiatsin Fr. Vahram Melikyan noted that such meetings target the maintenance of peace and tranquility in the region.
