YEREVAN, DECEMBER 12, ARMENPRESS: An exclusive exhibition entitled ''When the book finds its artist'' was launched in Hovhannes Tumanyan Museum on December 12. This exhibition is set to conclude a range of events dedicated to the 500th anniversary of first Armenian printed book. Serzh Sargsyan, President of the Republic of Armenia and other high-ranking guests were present at the opening ceremony, initiated jointly by the efforts Hovhannes Tumanyan Museum, the National Gallery of Armenia, Charents House-Museum, the National Library of Armenia and Charents Museum of Literature and Art.
''We are summarizing the year with this event. The start of series of events have declared their launch by an exhibition hosted in Venice and then continued by exhibitions dedicated to Armenian typography in other 12 cities'' Hasmik Poghosyan, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia stated in the briefing with journalists . In her words ''When the book finds its artist'' exhibition is dedicated to Armenian reading story and different phases of artistic designing of the book started since 19th century until the late 20 th 70's.
Exhibition curator Vardan Karapetyan noted that in the course of realization of the exhibition the organizers also included principle to present the reader. '' You may see the reader's portraits and photos in the exhibition. The second most important sector is to present the designing of the book'' Karapetyan noted. Over 70 samples and 13 books are presented in the exhibition. It consists of three main sections: a general introduction, each of which is dedicated to the formation of reading culture and certain phases of book designing.
