The Armenian filmmaker from Aleppo is arrested for illegal activity

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS. The Social Security Office of Aleppo informed that Armenian filmmaker from Aleppo Avo Gabrielian has been arrested with his two friends of non-Arabian descend. They have been arrested for illegal activity. The Press Secretary of the Armenian National Prelacy in Aleppo Jirayr Reisian informed "Armenpress" about this and in addition he said that the Office did not clarify what exact article of the law Avo Gabrielyan has violated.

Reisyan said that Avo Gabrielyan's family turned to the Armenian Unit of Emergency Situations of Aleppo asking them to interfere the situation on behalf of Avo Gabrielyan. Notwithstanding the Social Security Office announced that the investigation is still in the process and before its end they will not accept any petition.

As to the situation in Aleppo Reisian stated that the situation is calm, no explosions or shooting can be heard at the moment. Our compatriot from Damascus also informed us that the situation in the capital city of Syria is also peaceful.

Clashes in Syria lasting more than 20 months caused the death of more than 37 thousand people, including four dozens Armenians.
