After 33 years Armenian school in Istanbul has been returned to Armenians

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS: Armenian school in Shishli district of Istanbul has been returned to Armenians after 33 years of interruption. The decision to return the 200 years old school to Armenians was made by the 13th Court of Istanbul.

As reports Armenpress, the Court decided to return the school to Armenian St. Ghazar church and school fund. “Our efforts weren’t in vain. Now I believe that good things are happening in our days” declared the chairman of the fund Rita Nournur.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed a decree on returning all the snatched property to the ethnic minorities. The decree is including schools, kindergartens, hospitals etc.
