Armenia hosts Swedish Minister for Migration and Asylum Policy

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS: Foreign Affair Minister of the Republic of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan received Tobias Billstrom Swedish Minister for Migration and Asylum Policy, who arrived Yerevan to participate in the conference announcing the launch of the program entitled "Support to the State Migration Service to strengthen the migration management ''.

As Information and Public Relations Department of the Ministry told Armenpress, welcoming the quest Nalbandyan stated Armenia attaches great importance to the development of ties with Sweden both in bilateral and multilateral dimensions. Minister also stated the meetings with his Sweden counterpart Nils Daniel Carl Bildt provide an opportunity to assure the regularity of the political dialogue between the two countries.

In his turn Billstrom thanked for the warm reception and stressed Sweden considers Armenia an important partner and expressed his gratitude for actively developing cooperation. The high ranking Swedish official underscored the agreements acquired in the course of his visit will promote cooperation in the field of migration too.

The interlocutors envisaged the issues pertain to Armenia-EU cooperation issues. Minister Nalbandyan stated Armenia both with EU institutions and EU member states is actively cooperating in the field of migration.The implementation Joint Declaration on a Mobility Partnership between Armenia and EU, facilitation of the visa regime were touched upon.
