Charles Aznavour honored with official dinner in Armenian Embassy of Georgia

YEREVAN, AUGUST 16, ARMENPRESS: World famous Armenian singer and composer Charles Aznavour visited Tbilisi by the invitation of Georgian Government on August 15. As information and public relations department of Armenian Foreign Affairs Ministry told Armenpress, on the same day the great chansonnier attended Tbilisi Saint Etchmiadzin church accompanied by Armenian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Georgia Hovhannes Manukyan. Hundreds of Armenian Community representatives headed by Archbishop of Armenian Apostolic Church Diocese of Georgia Vazgen Mirzakhanyan welcomed Aznavour.

After Saint Gevorg church welcoming and candle lightening ceremony world famous singer had a meeting in "Hayartun" educational and cultural center with the representatives of Georgian Armenian community various bodies, spiritual leaders, Diocese Board of Trustees, Georgian Armenian church attending youngster unions, Georgian Armenian writers ‘’Vernatun’’ Union, Georgian Armenian Artists Union, Georgian Armenian Musicians Union, Georgian Armenian Intellectuals Union and various Armenian organizations.

Welcoming great benefactor Armenian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia Hovhannes Manukyan presented the love and respect of Tbilisi Armenians towards their famous compatriot. In the end of the meeting Tbilisi based Armenians painter Tengiz Mikoyants, sculptor Levon Osipov and musician Levon Shahbazyan presented their works to their great compatriot.

French Armenian chansonnier was honored with an official dinner on behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenian to Georgia.
