Armenia invited  CSTO states to joint maneuvers

YEREVAN, AUGUST 3, ARMENPRESS: The invitation has been sent to CSTO all member states presidents to participate in Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Rapid response special units joint maneuvers due to take place September 3-8 Armenia. In the briefing with Armenpress, Foreign Affairs Ministry press secretary Artstrun Hovhannisyan stated “We sent invitations, yet are not sure they will all accept it, taking into account the business if the heads of the countries. By September there is a lot of time left, and we are awaiting the approval of the invitations”.

“Cooperation -2012" maneuvers theme is “the application of CSTO collective security system and resources in Caucasus region by the assistance of CSTO rapid response forces."

The overall management of maneuvers’ preparation and conduction is implemented by Minister of Defense. The maneuvers management staff is determined by Armenian side, in coordination with CSTO United headquarter, including the representatives of CSTO member-states' defense ministries and the concerned ministries and departments, contingent commanders as well as of involved troops / forces / representatives of each CSTO member state.

The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO ) is an intergovernmental military alliance which was signed on 15 May 1992. CSTO member countries are: Armenia, Belarus, Ghrghezstane, Kazakhstan, Tajikistani, Uzbekistan and Russia.
