Shprot misses Armenia: the heart of the singer does not “sing” in USA
YEREVAN, AUGUST 3, ARMENPRESS: In the art of singing as in life the images which are different from all others, bright and bold often are not perceived unequivocally. The public interest towards them increases and sometimes transforms to intolerance criticism. One of the most “discussed” singers of Armenian bandstand Ani Tovmasyan or Shprot was one of the representatives of Armenian Show business who from the very beginning of her career did not feel lack of criticism. The singer who now lives in USA had a talk with reporter of Armenpress about her current activity and other details.
- In which creative activity are you engaged now?
If I can consider it creative activity (she smiles) than now I work in an Armenian restaurant as a singer. I am working with “Armenia TV” on a reality show about my life in USA: it is called “Shprot in the city of angels”. The project is in process and I can not say for sure when it will be broadcasted.
- When you plan to return to Armenia?
- I never plan important decisions in my life, the decisions are made themselves. Often there is a wish to buy tickets and again escape. In real I miss Yerevan, my family, friends, my busy life there very much. I am very lonely in USA. One day I will return for sure..
- What will look like Shprot who will return to Armenian stage, which musical creations will she perform?
Here I also try to write songs but I have not managed yet as it seems that I have nothing to say to American Armenians. My heart does not sing for them, I do not perform my songs. Instead of it I sing the song “Mother” by Christine Pepelyan, the song by Shushan Petrosyan which has the same name. I also sing old Armenian songs. For the guests who arrive from France I perform French songs and they like it. I am grateful to you for making me come to Yerevan even by thoughts.
