Earthquake took place near Armenian city Artashat

YEREVAN, AUGUST 2, ARMENPRESS: In near border area between Turkey and Armenia at 07:37 o’clock 5 km west to Artashat city took place an earthquake of 2.3 magnitudes. About this was received information at 07:56 o’clock of August 2.

Armenpress was informed from Ministry of Emergency situations of the Republic of Armenia that the strength of the earthquake in the epicenter had been 3 magnitudes. Hypocenter is located at 5 km depth. According to preliminary data the earthquake was felt in Artashat city with 2-3 magnitudes.

According to the same source On August 1 also at 22:54 o’clock in near border area Nakhcivan and Armenia, 16 km west to Kadzaran city of Armenia took place another earthquake of 2.5 magnitudes, the strength of which in the epicenter was 3-4 magnitudes.

The hypocenter of the earthquake was located at 5 km depth. According to preliminary data the earthquake was felt in Kadzaran city with strength of 2-3 magnitudes.
