Armenians did not suffer from clashes in Christian districts of Damascus

YEREVAN, AUGUST 1, ARMENPRESS: The clashes between governmental forces and opposition reached the Christian districts of Damascus. Armenpress reports calling Arabian media that anonymous source has informed that in Bab Tuma and Bab Sharkghi districts of Old Damascus region had begun clashes in the early morning of August 1. He explained that the clashes in above-mentioned territory take place for the first time. They lasted almost for thirty minutes. There is information that in result of clashes a soldier has died.

Damascus Citizens of Armenian origin informed Armenpress that the tension in Armenian community goes on: Armenians are afraid to come out of their flats but in result of latest clahes the community did not have any victims.

The clashes continue in the territory of Aleppo: the opposition forces had significant losses. They have declared they would take the city under control in several days.
