Catholicos of All Armenians hosted the Prefect of the Eastern Church Assembly

Yerevan, July 16, ARMENPRESS: His Holiness Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II hosted the Prefect of the Eastern Church Assembly, Cardinal Leonardo Sandri on July 16 in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the Holy See information system informed ”Armenpress”.

His Holiness greeted the Cardinal’s visit to Armenia and the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, stating that the Armenian Apostolic and the Roman Catholic Churches historically consecrated relations are distinguished by special warmth. His Holiness outlined the importance of the cooperation between the Holy See and the Vatican in the educational and social spheres. Touching upon the meetings with the Cardinal Sandri, His Holiness highly appreciated his special treatment toward the Armenians and the Armenian Church.

Speaking about the relations and cooperation with sister Churches, His Holiness particularly stressed that Christ’s Church should be in a loving union with the undistorted protection of value systems formed as a result of historical developments, which will contribute to the successful implementation of the Christian mission.

Cardinal Sandri also expressed happiness for the meeting and touched upon the fraternal relations between the Armenian Church and the Roman Catholic Church, expressing hope that they will become closer and more powerful.
