“Golden Apricot” brought a famous Georgian film director Eldar Shengelaya to Armenia

Armenpress reports that “Golden Apricot” Yerevan 9th international film festival hosted a Georgian film director Shengelaya in Yerevan, whose films will be presented in the framework of “Golden Apricot”. During the press conference, he informed Armenpress, that he is very excited, that he arrived in Yerevan after many years.”It is very pleasant to be again in Yerevan, to take part in a famous Yerevan film festival”- he said. He loved the opening film from Hamo Beknazaryan “Shor and shorshor”. The films, which are directed by Shengelaya, are very artistic, they are very funny, but at the same time very serious as well. Shengelaya advised the beginner film directors to shot as more films as they can, in order to create real films. “Golden Apricot” awarded him “Parajanivyan taler” prize for global earnings, which is not only magnifying the director contribution , but also appreciating Armenian-Georgian relations, and particularly the assessment of his contribution in Parajanov`s biography.
