YEREVAN, JUNE 25, ARMENPRESS: One more soldier of Armenian origin has been killed during the clashes between Governmental forces and armed rebels in Syria. Armenpress was informed from Spokesman of Foreign affairs ministry of Armenia Tigran Balayan that representative of Armenian community in Syria Raffi Ibrahim Kadmus who was born in Syrian city Tel Abyad was killed during the clashes. According to received information he was killed in Homs.
Earlier Armenpress had informed that one more Armenian serviceman became the victim of the continuing massacre taking place in Syria. 1992 born Jalal Melkonyan from Hasaka city died while serving in Syrian Army.
The ongoing conflicts lasting already for fifteen months, taking place in Syria, had grave consequences on the Armenian community in Syria. To the toll of the previously four victims, Jalal Melkjon’ death came to be the fifth loss.
Besides the human losses, Armenian community has suffered much damage: Homs based Armenian school and church were bombarded by the opposition forces and later served a kind of shelter and rest place for the initiators.
