President Serzh Sargsyan hands state awards

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 24, ARMENPRESS: Ceremonial prize giving event took place today at the Residence of the President of Armenia. President Serzh Sargsyan signed the decree on handing the awards in late 2011.

Hovhannes Grigoryan received an award in the sphere of literature and rhetoric for his "Never die- this is what I'll say" book. In the sphere of music the award has been handed to Robert Amirkhanyan for "Yerevan Rhapsody" work.

Staging director Armen Khandikyan, author of dresses Karen Grigoryan, actors Grigor Gabrielyan, Arthur Utmazyan, Hrachya Harutyunyan got prizes for "Julius Caesar" performance. Eduard Ghazaryan, Hayk Sargsyan and Karen Dvoyan received prizes in the sphere of exact and natural sciences.

The prize laureate certificate, badge and money award of 5 million AMD are being awarded. The state awards are being granted for best works, discoveries, inventions. They are granted once in two years.
