RPA MP Karen Avagyan wants to become rector of Yerevan Medical University, newspaper claims

The daily Haykakan Zhamanak writes that according to the information of the Armenian civil aviation department in January this year about 161070 people departed from the Zvartnots and Shirak airports and 54226 people arrived. The paper says the negative balance was 6844 people. The paper says the negative balance of the January of the past year was 5840 people. The paper says as compared with the past year the negative balance increased by 25%. The paper says the emigration is the only sphere with which we start the year with obvious and indisputable progress.

The paper Zhoghovurd writes the active work of the police chief Vladimir Gasparyan in all the spheres and directions started worrying certain force structures. The paper says if previously they were dissatisfied considering chief of the police “weak”, now they are complaining that “he is in all the places, sometimes “more than necessary”. Citing its well-informed sources, the paper says there is “silent disagreement” between the Police and National Security Service. The paper says it is being manifested in different ways but the sources of the paper keep silence about them.Nevertheless the paper asked head of the public relations department of the Police Ashot Aharonyan to comment on the information but he denied it immediately, saying there is no such thing, “and there cannot be. The Police are closely cooperating with all the law enforcement bodies.”

The daily Yerkir writes MP from the Republican Party of Armenia faction Karen Avagyan who is also the chairman of the RPA Youth organization’s council, wishes to become rector of the Yerevan State Medical University. The paper says currently he is defending the doctorate which is an obligatory precondition for being “appointed” rector of the university. The newspaper says he graduated from the Medical University’s general medicine faculty and continued postgraduate study in Germany.

The daily Hraparak claims it has learnt that the parliamentary elections have not launched yet but the authorities have already designed the government changes that will take place after the elections. According to it, the authorities intend to appoint Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan deputy prime minister, Police Chief Vova Gasparyan will be appointed defense minister and Emergency Situations Minister Armen Yeritsyan will be appointed chief of the police.
