USA ready to cooperate in implementation of 2nd round of “Millennium Challenge” program in Armenia

YEREVAN, JANUARY 27, ARMENPRESS: Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan received Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Eric Rubin, who is in Armenia on a regional visit. "Our cooperation with your former counterpart was quite fruitful; we had frank and friendly dialogue. I am sure those friendly relations will be continued in near future as well," said Tigran Sargsyan. The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues concerning development of Armenian-American relations, government's press service told Armenpress.

Welcoming the government's activities in productive management of Armenia's economy, Eric Rubin noted that the USA will continue supporting the steps directed toward development of Armenian-American relations.

Eric Rubin said his country is ready to go on with cooperation with Armenia in the direction of implementation of the 2nd round of Millennium Challenge Corporation.

"Since that program's first round succeeded in Armenia, we must do our best for continuation of the works," Deputy Assistant Secretary said.

Referring to regional issues, Rubin noted that the USA will continue urging Turkey both publicly and by means of private talks to regulate Armenian-Turkish relations, open the borders and establish transport and railway ties with Armenia.

During the meeting the parties also referred to cooperation in economy, education, IT, fighting against corruption and other spheres.
