State fund compensating victims of human trafficking to be set up

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 13, ARMENPRESS:

Armenian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan held Tuesday the regular session of the Council of Trafficking Issues in Armenia. Public Relations Department of Territorial Administration Ministry told Armenpress that the issue on establishments of a corresponding state fund for compensating the trafficking victims was discussed.

Highlighting the importance of suchlike fund, the council decided that RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, cooperating with other interested bodies, will study the international practice within 3 months and will submit proposals on the formation principles of the fund, simultaneously presenting a package of relevant legal acts.

To increase competence level of society on the issue, a social advertisement has been prepared, and for the journalists classes and workshops will be organized. The council will also prepare an encouragement award for the best coverage.
