Kurds are persecuting the Yezidis, Assyrians and Christian people in the northern part of Iraq, chairman of the Union of the Yezidis Aziz Tamoyan said today at the rally organized December 12 for the defense of rights of the Yezidis. He said attacks on Yezidis in that region aim at forcing them change their religion. "Northern Iraq, called Yezidistan, is our homeland. They want us to leave our homeland," he said.
Aziz Tamoyan presented an application-complain to the Yerevan offices of the Council of Europe and UN. In the application on behalf of world Yezidis he requested the assistance of international organizations to save the Yezidis, one of the ancient nations of the world from genocide.
