The daily Haykakan Zhamanak writes that Yerevan Kentron and Nork Marash court satisfied yesterday the petition of the Special Investigative Service and extended the detention of the former head of the RA Police’s Criminal Investigation Department Hovhannes Tamanyan for two months. The paper says Tamamyan is in detention for already eight months from March 24. The paper reminds that he is accused of abusing the power that caused grave consequences.

The daily Hayots Ashkhar writes about the working sitting of the RPA executive body with the participation of the leader of the party Serzh Sargsyan. According to the speaker of the RPA Eduard Sharmazanov no resignation issues were discussed at the sitting. The paper says inner-party issues and issues connected with the formation of the pre-electoral headquarter were discussed. The paper says the issue of failure of the RPA candidate in the elections of Ijevan mayor was also discussed. Sharmazanov told the daily that in connection with the incident between the governor of Syunik and businesswoman Silva Hambardzumyan they decided to refer to the issue after the legal proceedings are over.

The daily Haykakan Zhamanak also writes that Chief of the Police Vova Gasparyan dismissed head of the Police’s Yerevan Investigation Department Mushegh Babayan from the office, instead appointing investigator Gevorg Gevorgyan. The paper says the criminal cases of seven ANC activists, incident between businesswoman Silva Hambartsumyan and Syunik’s governor Surik Kachatryan are under this investigator’s control.

The daily Haykakan Zhamanak writes that the Iranian embassy in Armenia did not reject that an Iranian company is going to build a 50-storeyed building in downtown Yerevan, near Moscow cinema. The paper says later the news was confirmed from the Yerevan City Hall. The paper says it wanted to found out details from the Iranian embassy but did not receive any comments. The paper says chief architect of Yerevan Narek Sargsyan said he does not think the company will get permission of construction of such skyscraper and said he excludes it.

The same paper also writes that November 17 the tax inspectorate of the Yerevan Arabkir community began inspecting the enterprises owned by Silva Hambartsumyan. The paper says Silva Hambartsumyan confirmed the information. According to the daily, inspectors are now checking the Kalach company, which Hambartsumyan purchased from Albert Yeritsyan, the ex-head of the Arabkir community.

The paper reminds that Silva Hambartsumyan has recently had serious problems with the governor of the Syunik province.
