YEREVAN, OCTOBER 27, ARMENPRESS:
1999, October 27, terrorist act in the session hall of the National Assembly of Armenia. Twelve years ago this day during the NA-Government Q&A the National Assembly was attacked and eight state figures – Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan, NAChairman Karen Demirchyan, Vice Chairmen Yuri Bakhshyan and Ruben Miroyan, Minister of Operative Affairs Leonard Petrosyan, members of parliament Armenak Armenakyan, Henrik Abrahamyan and Mikhael Kotanyan were murdered.
With the 2003 December 2 court verdict criminals Nairi Hunanyan and five members of the band were sentenced to life imprisonment, one criminal was sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment, later committed suicide.
Like every year tribute will be paid to the memory of the victims at the memorial unveiled in the court of the National Assembly.
