An exhibition and symposium dedicated to 500th anniversary of Armenian book printing at Library of Alexandria

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS:
The fourth international symposium dedicated to book printing history of the Middle East will be hold September 27-29 at the Library of Alexandria. Armenia will participate in it, too. A special session is intended to hold within the symposium on the occasion of proclaiming Yerevan a Book Capital 2012 by the UNESCO. Armenian Deputy Culture Minister Arthur Poghosyan told Armenpress that during the running year Armenia will take an active part in all the important events concerning the book.
Director of Matenadaran Hrachya Tamrazyan, Director of Yegishe Charents Museum of Literature and Art Karapet Vardanyan, and Edik Dabuzyan, head of the Font Development and Maintenance Department at National Book Chamber, will take part in the symposium from Armenia.
During those days an exhibition of Armenian ancient-type book will be conducted in the Library of Alexandria dedicated to 500th anniversary of Armenian book printing, where exhibits from the collections of Matenadaran and Yegishe Charents Museum of Literature and Art will be persneted.
