Patrick Fiori: Armenia is in my veins

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 21, ARMENPRESS:

French singer Patrick Fiori has said in an interview given to a French mass media, that he feels himself an Armenia, as Armenia is in his veins. Born to an Armenian father (Jacques Chouchayan) and a Corsican mother (Marie Antoinette Fiori), the singer considers he is a bearer of cultures of two nations, Armenpress reports, citing "Newsarmenia.com". "Half of my body and blood belong to that wonderful nation," he said.

"I think I have received a wonderful upbringing both by the Armenian and Corsican parts. I am the crazy fanatic of my father and I know how huge his role in my life has been," the singer said, adding that he does not compare the two genes. He does not see a fighting between the two parties, but common features. "They are truly two strong peoples, but I have found in one thepeculiarities of the other," Patrick Fiori said, noting that Armenian society helped him in his first steps, and he expressed his deep gratitude in that regard.

In answer to the question why he has selected "Fiori" and not his father's surname, the singer said, "That is because I faced the same issue on every step: my surname – Chouchayan, which is not very difficult, was always distorted." That circumstance annoyed the singer, so he took his mother's surname.
