Davit Karapetyan Says Yuri Khachaturov Absolutely Realizes Through What Sacrifices NKR Security Zone Was Formed

Davit Karapetyan, RA defense minister's spokesman, commented on the news, according to which Yuri Khachaturov – colonel general, head of the General Staff of the Republic of Armenia Armed Forces – spoke at a meeting on giving the liberated territories back.

"This is evidently some misinformation. The head of the General Staff of the Republic of Armenia Armed Forces is the highest official of the armed forces and manages the armed forces. The talks over the Karabakh issue are the competence of not military, but political authorities. The powers of the head of the Armed Forces General Staff are provided for in Article 14 of the RA Law "On Defense".

Colonel General Yuri Khachaturov took an active participation in the Artsakh War and absolutely realizes through what sacrifices the security zone of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic was formed," he said.
