Analyst says Yerevan never to endanger security of Nagorno Karabakh

YEREVAN, JULY 8, ARMENPRESS:

The official Yerevan will not agree to a solution that may endanger the security of Nagorno Karabakh, political analyst Yervand Bozoyan said at a news conference today referring to the current phase of the NK conflict settlement process.

The political analyst said in this negotiation phase the Azerbaijanis will try to do everything possible to artificially drag the process to seize something in their favor. He noted that talks are being held on non-official level that these principles are non-working.

"I think in this way the Azerbaijanis hope to exert pressure, blackmail and reach a situation they want", Bozoyan said, adding that currently the ball is in Azerbaijan's field. They must make a decision whether they are ready to sign under these principles or not. "Moscow has not lost hope that it will reach a result. If not document on basic principles but it hopes signing of any mid-term document. I think Moscow will do everything possible so that its mission gives positive result", Bozoyan said.

Referring to the statement of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton that the EU is ready to assist the Minsk group, the analyst noted that no one doubts that the talks must proceed within the framework of the Minsk group.

"Azerbaijan is trying to transmit the issue to different establishments but everyone understands there is no alternative to the Minsk group", Bozoyan said.
