The semi-weekly 168 Zham writes that after Foreign Minister of Nagorno Karabakh Georgi Petrosyan was included in the staff of the ARF Bureau the issue who will replace him in the office is being widely discussed. The paper says though the ARF circles are in every way trying to convince that there is nothing extraordinary when member of ARF Bureau is in ministerial post but more probably Georgi Petrosyan will resign in the coming days. The paper says the most possible candidate for the office is considered former president of the NKR Arkady Ghukasyan for who no "convenient" office was found.
Under the title Do EP Delegates consider Armenia Occupant? the daily Aravot writes that yesterday the European parliament discussed at its plenary sitting the situation in Nagorno Karabakh and though it has not adopted any document many members of the EP were making the same call in their speeches. The paper says Austria's delegate for instance stated "I would call on Armenia to withdraw its troops from the Azerbaijani occupied territories", Italian delegate said "The territorial integrity of a sovereign state must be maintained", the Hungarian delegate said "As a result of the attack of Armenia and the soviet army Azerbaijan lost 20% of its territory, we must assist Azerbaijan". The paper says even the Cyprian delegate urged to withdraw forces from "occupied territories".
The daily Haykakan Zhamanak writes from July 8 Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov will be paying short visits to Baku and then to Yerevan to convey the message of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev about the settlement of the NK conflict to the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan. The paper says EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton is also planning to visit Armenia and Azerbaijan in near future to discuss NK issue.
