The daily Azg writes that according to the official information President Sargsyan is leaving for Strasburg today on a working visit to participate in the plenary sitting of PACE. The paper says the Azerbaijani and Turkish delegates prepared questions and hurried to get registered for forwarding them to the Armenian President. The daily says on any occasion they always ask about Azerbaijan's "occupation", millions of "refugees" and "when are you going to withdraw the armed forces". The paper says in any case besides the speech to be made at the plenary sitting within the framework of the visit the president is expected to have a number of bilateral meetings.
The paper continues that after arriving from Strasburg the president is going to depart for Kazan to meet with the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan. The paper says this meeting may become a breakthrough which depends from the determination of the Azerbaijani side as the latter if it could it would have rejected the few documents signed lately. The paper says in this context it is difficult to be convinced that Azerbaijan first will sign a document and afterward will not regret it.
The semi-weekly 168 Zham writes that according to the Armenian National Statistical Service the index of the economic activation in May this year made 9.9% as compared with the same span of the past year. The paper says the publication of the NSS does not allow comparing the first 5 months with the previous one. But basing on the statistics of the previous months it is possible to conclude that the index of economic activity will be 3.5-4%. The paper reminds that the state budget intends 4.6% economic growth.
The daily Capital writes that before the crisis the World Bank described Armenia's economy as "Caucasian Tiger". The paper explains that the bank has named "tiger" the economies of those countries which during the last 10 years incessantly registered double-digit economic growth. The paper says this year Armenia's economy seems to activate and seems to get prepared for a tiger jump. The paper says as compared with the May 2010 the index of Armenia's economic activation made 109.9%.
The daily Hayots Ashkhar writes that Fund for Peace organization and Foreign Policy magazine published the list of Failed States. The paper says among the 177 countries Armenia like during the previous years has been ranked 101st. Georgia is the 47th (in 2010 it was the 37th), Azerbaijan has been ranked 63d (in 2010 55th). The paper says Russia is ranked 82d. The list is topped by Somali, followed by Chad, Sudan, Congo and Haiti. The paper says the first is Finland that for the first time passed Norway. The United States is ranked the 158th.
