“2011 Program of IT Sphere Promotion Services” approved

YEREVAN, MAY 26, ARMENPRESS:

At its cabinet sitting today the government approved the "2011 Program of IT Sphere Promotion Services". Economy Minister Tigran Davtyan said that the government highlights the development of IT not just as a separate sphere but as a general progress in the economy, increase of productivity and ensuring competition in the global market. The main goal of the program is to assist the realization of developed and distinguished IT sphere based on the leading knowledge-based society.

It is also planned to create information and telecommunication technology in accordance with the best international standards which will promote the development of IT sphere and information society in Armenia.

The program will be implemented in close cooperation with the state and private sectors.
