Events for Commemoration of Armenian Genocide to be held in Cyprus

YEREVAN, APRIL 24, ARMENPRESS: The Armenian community of Cyprus will organize April 25 a march in the central streets of Nicosia for the commemoration of the Armenian Genocide, committed by Ottoman Turkey in the beginning of the 20th century. An official from the Armenian Cause Committee of Cyprus told Armenpress that the commemoration ceremony will be finished in the Armenian Street near the Armenian Genocide monument.

Archbishop Varujan Mahdesyan will serve a liturgy for the repose of souls of the innocent victims. The Armenian community of Cyprus was formed mainly in the result of the massacres by Turks in Cilicia. The community goes on its struggle for justice and protection of human rights.
