YEREVAN, APRIL 22, ARMENPRESS: Turkey has not implemented the changes which will witness that the country is ready to establish relations with Armenia, deputy foreign minister Shavarsh Kocharyan said today at the presentation of “Armenian-Turkish Relations: Issues and Prospects” book.

According to him, the process of normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations, which is now frozen, failed because of Turkey. It showed that Turkey has lost the opportunity to normalize relations with its direct neighbor.

“Turkey has lost the opportunity to become participant of process of establishment of civilized relations in the region, moreover during this period it more adopted policy of establishment of separation lines”, Kocharyan said.

The deputy minister said with the failure of the normalization of the relations with Armenia, Turkey also lost the small means - make step forward on the way to its integration into the European Union. “It is obvious that in the assessment of the EU of the policy of Turkey the process of normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations is being viewed from the viewpoint on how ready is Turkey to make step toward the system of European values. This situation showed that the official Ankara is not ready for it yet”, Shavarsh Kocharyan stressed.
