YEREVAN, APRIL 22, ARMENPRESS: In spite of the recent trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Iran, Azerbaijan and Turkey and achievement of certain arrangements, the issues in the Iranian-Azerbaijani relations still exist, Iranologist, vice president of the “Noravank” scientific educational center Sevak Sarukhanyan said, speaking to Armenpress.
He said the Iranian-Azerbaijani relations will not go well because of several reasons but deep worsening must not be expected as well. “Iran is assisting its community in Azerbaijan which is viewed by the Azerbaijani authorities as threat against own security. If the activity launched by Iran continues successfully, the positions of the ruling administration of Azerbaijan will weaken”, the Iranologist said.
In spite of it Sarukhanyan said there is no possibility of military confrontation between Iran and Azerbaijan. “I do not think it will happen”, the expert said.
